by the light of the iPad

Good morning,  I have had this layout ready for a little while and forgot to post it.

What do you do when you have a picture that really isn't scrapping worthy, but you like the memory?  There is something about this photo that I really liked, even though it is in the dark and of pretty terrible quality!  Sometimes that is OK.  In this case all I needed was a memory, so I went with it and still made a scrapbook page out of it.

by the light of the iPad:

This LOVE circle cut is a Chic Tags freebie... I seriously love cutting in to the background of my layout these days and this was a perfect cut file to do that.  I cut it out and used it like a moon and then added a bunch of stars around it.

Tomorrow is the Social [Media] Butterflies blog hop so be sure to stop back by...

every true princess

Good morning!  I am trying to use things up from my scrapbook stash to make room for the new stuff to come and so I dug in to a mix of my Studio Calico kits to make this layout.   I had snapped this sweet picture of these two, Piper in a princess costume and Ashton, pretending to be her hero with his bow and arrow.  i just love the expression on her face and her hand clasped together!

My title is on a clear frame.  I stuck the piece of pink ribbon tape behind the word "needs" to help it not get lost in the blue and white polka dots.

I hand stitched this little border using an old template I had laying around.  It reminded me of the recording of a beating heart, so I attached a wood heart on the left.

Hope you are having a good week!  I can't believe it is the end of July today... this summer is going fast!

right here

Hello, I am trying to get back on a schedule of layouts and blog posts, only to be away again next week!   It has been a busy summer that is for sure.  A couple more weeks and everyone will be back in school and a regular routine will resume...well, somewhat regular at least.  For now, I am continuing to enjoy the summer.  So I will leave you with a sunny layout today...

This sunshine cut file is a freebie on the Chic Tags website.  I am absolute love with it.  I used a video posted by my dear scrapping friend, Sherri to make the cut in to the background of my page.   Here is the link to her video.

I am really enjoying hand stitching on my layouts these days, so I added some in between rays here.

And here is a close up of my picture, some Chic Tags, and the Good Stuff button is from A Flair for Buttons!

Check out the Practical Scrappers blog today for more ideas on scrapbooking with sunshines.

Just a quick little post here today.  The other day I had a layout up on the Epiphany Crafts blog and I forgot to post it here as well!  So... here it is!  I used the hexagon shape tool to make these colorful little bits!  They are covered with an epoxy hexagon bubble cap.

Here are some close ups:

Buttons! A Chic Tags Challenge

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by.  Today I have a quick little layout to share... The Sunday Challenge on the Chic Tags blog this week is buttons.  Good ol' buttons!  Use them on a layout, grab a tag or two and link up to this post on the blog for a chance to win an awesome prize.

I layered some buttons on a scalloped circle tag and then used a die cut tag to frame it.  Everything is "pinned" on the cork board paper!

project life - week 14

I've been posting my Project Life pages regularly on the Chic Tags blog, but I don't always update here.  I thought today I would share my most recent week.  I am finding it easier to use pictures that fill the pockets these days.  I leave some pockets for journaling and some just to use for embellishments.  I still do the odd embellish the picture type of pocket, but of course that was taking a lot of time, and with my other projects that I have going on I needed to simplify this one.  I want to keep going with Project Life so I am trying to learn how to simplify some things!

Here are some details of some of my pockets:

To keep up with my Project Life pages check out the Chic Tags blog on Saturdays.

1st grade friends

Good Monday morning, to you all!  Today I have this layout up on the Practical Scrappers blog.  The topic on the blog today is enamel dots.  I didn't have to search too hard for a layout where I have used enamel dots, they seem to be in my regular rotation these days.  They are theme-free and so easy to use!  They add a little dimension and interest to any layout.

This layout is about my middle child and a dear friend of mine's daughter.  They were in a preschool gymnastics class together and then ended up in the same first grade class.  Because they knew each other previously, they have a special little bond thing going on in class!  So sweet.

Here are a few close ups of my layering.

I've tucked a little note that I wanted to save in this envelope.  It is the perfect way to keep track of it without showing it on the layout.  One day it will be fun to look back and read it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm + Epiphany Crafts

Happy Monday.  I have been working away on my This is ME class that I am taking this month at Studio Calico.  I have some of the pages ready to share with you today.  I am using Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm collection and of course making some of my own embellishments using my Epiphany Crafts tools.  I really like how I can make my own little bits of embellies to match my paper or my style.  Check it out:

And stop by the Epiphany Crafts blog today to see more details of my This is ME album.
