halfway up the stairs

As I kid I remember a poem that my mom used to read to me by A.A. Milne called Halfway Down.  I used to love it and it has stuck in my head forever.   The other day my 8 year old was doing his reading homework in the most unusual places and the words to this poem came rushing back.  I used some of the words as my title for this Chic Tags layout.  Check out the blog today for a little tip to do with your Chic Tags mini icons.

YUM

On one of our many days off this January, we took a trip for some frozen yogurt!  What could be better than to eat some frozen yogurt in the frozen temperatures?!  My picture had so many colors in it, so I turned it to black and white so I could focus on the pink, red and white on my layout.  Check out the Pretty Little Studio blog to read more.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Rosy

Hi there.  I have a layout today that I made using the February Paper Camellia kit.  Oh, how I loved the goodies in this one!  Check out the Paper Camellia blog for more details on this layout.  I broke out the modeling paste to give my background some texture.

oh, what fun!

I have not been a good blogger lately.  I am far, far behind with sharing layouts.  One day I will get back on track.  Maybe not now, but soon.  For the meantime, here is a layout from the December Paper Camellia kit.

I love the Crate Paper patterned papers in the Bundled Up line.

a couple of January Paper Camellia layouts

We have had a super cold week around here... today the kids are finally back at school... though we are having a late start in hopes that it warms up a degree or two, I guess!

I have a couple of layouts that were on the Paper Camellia blog this month.  This first one, I used an ombre paper to punch out some hearts and then arranged them down the side of my page from dark to light.

And for my second layout, I gathered up bits and pieces of patterned papers and tags and filled my page with a sort of grid pattern.  I  stitched around each piece and then embellished with sticker letters and wood veneers.

Stop by the Paper Camellia blog for more inspiration from our other designers!

know this

Good morning.  I am up on the Paper Camellia blog today with this layout today.  Stop by to see the full post.  I love how these two sit so close together.  I took a bunch of pictures and couldn't decide which one to use, so I found a way to use three of them.

Chic Tags and Freckled Fawn

Hello there!  I've been so excited for this week... the Chic Tags blog hop with Freckled Fawn... I was jumping with joy when I received the Freckled Fawn October kit.  We have had projects up all week so be sure to check out the Chic Tag blog.

My first layout is called Fall Visit.  I tried something new here and used some modeling pasted and a mask to give my background some texture.

And here is the second layout, A Special Day.  I made some flowers out of layered parchment paper, tacked them down with some machine stitching and then topped them with a Freckled Fawn flower.  Oh how I love these embellishments... I may need another kit or two...

all time best Cousins

It's almost the end of the month and I haven't yet posted this layout that I made as guest designer for Citrus Twist Kits.  This one has sort of a simple design with the recurring hexagon throughout.  Lots of layering too.  It was quite fun to make!
