It has been so busy this time of year, it is hard to find time to get on this blog!  Anyway, here is a layout that I have up on the Chic Tags blog today, using the new Happy Place collection.  I love how easy it is to scrapbook using these products!  I added a piece of vellum over my journaling to make it less of the focus of my layout.  It is still visible to read, but now the picture is the main focus.  This was a technique that I learned from the Studio Calico Lifted class.

I stuck lots of little sequins on top... Right now I am loving the soft look of sequins and vellum.

Chic Tags and Freckled Fawn

Hello there!  I've been so excited for this week... the Chic Tags blog hop with Freckled Fawn... I was jumping with joy when I received the Freckled Fawn October kit.  We have had projects up all week so be sure to check out the Chic Tag blog.

My first layout is called Fall Visit.  I tried something new here and used some modeling pasted and a mask to give my background some texture.

And here is the second layout, A Special Day.  I made some flowers out of layered parchment paper, tacked them down with some machine stitching and then topped them with a Freckled Fawn flower.  Oh how I love these embellishments... I may need another kit or two...

The weather is getting cooler and that means not as much playing outside after school.  This is what starts to happen around here.... I lifted this layout from one that Sasha did a while back.  Just love her style!   This layout was made using the October Paper Camellia main kit and add on.

Hello... today I have a bunch of cards that I have made for our week of Epiphany Crafts and Lawn Fawn product swap!  These Lawn Fawn patterned papers were super fun to work with.  I love that the patterns on the 6x6 pads were so tiny.  Perfect size to fit under an Epiphany Crafts epoxy.

I used Chic Tags' new Schoolhouse collection.  I love, love this line and can't wait to get my hands on more of it... It should be available by the end of the month.  And here is my take on the sketch....

New:

I replaced one of the photo spots on the sketch with a little envelope.  Inside the envelope is a picture of the names on the new class lists.  Every year we walk up to school on the Friday before it starts to check out the class list posting.  The kids learn who their teachers are and who will be in class with them.  Always an exciting day!

using Bella's Designer Tapes

 Hello!  Today on the Bella Blvd blog, there is a feature on using the Designer Tapes.  This is the layout that I made using the Designer Tapes as a large element of my page.   I cut the chevron/zigzag pattern on my cameo after covering a piece of 12x12 cardstock in tape from top to bottom.  I then used my sewing machine, followed along the edges of the zigzags and stitched the tapes down.  Stop by the Bella Blvd blog today to see more fabulous ideas for scrapbooking with Designer Tapes.

a back to school layout

Well, it is not exactly back to school time, but I have finally had some time to dig into a Studio Calico kit and scrapbook some back to school pics.  I love that Studio Calico picks papers from all different companies and puts them together with the most adorable embellishments.

Third grade:

I stitched this little card to make a pocket and then used it to hide my journaling that I did on a tag.

Little vellum envelopes filled with special things and confetti are a big trend right now.  I've been wanting to join in and try it out.

Happy Thanksgiving!

It is American Thanksgiving today!  Here is a layout for you to check out in case you have some extra blog reading time over this long weekend.  This is another Bella Blvd Fall layout that was featured on the blog yesterday.  I wanted to try some masking and misting and so I made the rays of my sun with a circular mask and some orange mist.  I pieced some patterned paper over top of every other section of my misted circle and then of course added some stitching on top.  Never complete without some stitching!
