Social [Media] Butterflies blog hop

So very excited today to be a part of the Social [Media] Butterflies blog hop!  The topic this month is TIME.... I decided to do a little timeline of a Saturday in January.  I used my trusty cameo to make seven different times throughout the day and added some journaling under each one.  The right side of my layout shows some  highlights a few of the times in pictures.

Here are some detailed shot.  Lots of stitching of course.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, feel free to leave a comment!.  Now it is TIME to head over to fabulous Shay's blog to see what she has done with this theme.  If you get lost you can always check back at the Social [Media] Butterfly's  blog to see where you are.

wood veneers

Hello Monday.  Please be kind and let me get a few things checked off my to do list!

Today on the Practical Scrappers blog we are showing you some ideas on what to do with those trendy little wood veneer pieces that I love so much.  I find myself reaching for these little goodies to finish off any layout... tiny little stars, a bird or a feather, even just a small arrow, these wood veneers are perfect finishing touches for every project.

Though it is not a great picture, I really wanted to scrap this one.  It was the only one we got with all of the cousins wrapped in their angry bird blankets together.  They were having such a good time in these blankets, I wanted to document it.

I made a baker's twine wire and stuck some little wood veneer birds on it.  One for each of the cousins in the picture.

I used some wood veneer feathers to float down from the birds.

And I added a couple of subtle rub on birds in the background.

Stop on over to the Practical Scrappers blog today to see more fabulous ideas of what to do with wood veneers.

another wintery one

Good morning!  I am back with another wintery layout for the Scrapbooking Studio using Echo Park's Winter Wishes collection.  This one was sort of a different style of layout for me with the big rectangle blocks of color with subtle changes in pattern.

My picture is framed with a die cut polaroid cut from my Cameo.

I added some gold POW paper, the die cut arrow and the little trees, for a little bit of contrast and some pop.

Pick up some of these pretty wintery papers for yourself at the Scrapbooking Studio.

mustaches

Mustaches... they seem to be all the rage these days.  Ashton found this mustache that was in a little kit that was floating around since Christmas and he put it on.  He started making faces and I started snapping pictures.  Bella Blvd's Kiss Me collection was a perfect fit for these pictures.

These little mustache cuts came from the online Silhouette Cameo store.  I shrunk them down , cut themmand then stuck them to a little journaling sticker.

today & everyday layout

Good morning!  Today's layout uses Bella Blvd's awesome new collection of Sophisticates.  This line is one of my favorites because it can be used for anything.  Not themed at all, Sophisticates is just a bunch of fabulous colors that coordinate with any of the other Bella papers.

I used a bunch of cuts on my Cameo for this layout, the chevrons the arrow, a number 3, the day tabs.

If you cut the Freestyle paper really thin, it looks like a piece of patterned tape.

arrows

Today's topic over on the Practical Scrappers blog is arrows. They come in all shapes, colors and sizes and there is just so much you can do with them!   In this layout, I have used a couple different die cut arrows, wood veneer arrows and even arrows on washi tape.

I love grouping a bunch of similar icons together.  The white arrows are very subtle, but the red really stands out.

I encourage you to try a layout with arrows!  Link it up in my comments if you do!  And don't forget to see what the other Practical Scrappers did with arrows on the Practical Scrappers blog.

snow day layout

We haven't had a whole lot of snow in central Illinois this winter or last... Though two years ago was a whole different story!  This picture was taken last year when we did our Christmas visit to the grandparents in Canada.  They have also have had a few winters with very little snow, but we managed to get in one good snowfall; enough to make a snowman and do some tobogganing.

I made this layout with Echo Park's Winter Wishes collection.  The colors are cool and soft and just feel like cold weather and snow!  Everything that I've used on this layout can be found at the Scrapbooking Studio.  Stop on by!
