Happy Days

Happy December!  Can't believe it is here already.  I've got my numerous advent calendars prepared...

A chocolate one from Great Grandma... two hockey themed ones and a "pretty dress"one.

This Star Wars Lego calendar.  A great find.

And then the one a made a few years ago, thanks to good ol' Ali Edwards.  I fill it will little trinkets and treats.  It is harder now that there are 3 of them.  The boxes aren't huge.  But even if it is one Sweedish fish each, they are happy!   This one is not quite finished but I have filled till at least number 11, so I have a few more days on that.

Now for some scrapbook related business...  Another project for the Scrapbooking Studio.  This time I used Echo Park's Happy Days line.  It was a really fun, bright and colorful palette, so I used some old black and white photos to compliment it.  Just some random old photos of my grandma and grandpa, my mom and dad and then a couple of me and my dad, many years ago.  It is just a collection of pictures, but in a way, it tells a small simple story.  I had a blast putting it together.  Hope you enjoy!

Now, I really need to get on to my December Daily album.  Since I have not made my base pages yet and I have lots of other things on the go, I am going SIMPLE this year!

First Design Team Assignment

I am finally ready to post my creations for the Scrapbooking Studio's design team.  This month I was given two lines to work with.  The first one is Melissa Frances' collection, Deck the Halls.  Using some kraft card stock as a base, I made a simple card.  The string of round ornaments is machine stitched and then embellished with some stickles.

I also made two single layouts using this collection and kraft card stock as my background.  For this first layout, I die cut some snow flakes and then misted the page and with the snowflakes laying on the card stock and acting as a mask.
Buttons are threaded with baker's twine and then stuck down to act as a garland.

Some stitching at the top and bottom of each page for detail.
The second layout is a on a Melissa Frances paper and layered with many of the patterned papers from the Deck the Halls line. I spritzed a little red Maya Mist on the edges of the paper and cut up a triangular banner and repositioned it so that it would curve slightly upwards.  A little baker's twine finished it off.

I still had a bunch of paper and little stickers left over, so I whipped up a couple of tags and embellished them with some baker's twine.

Back tomorrow with my mini album using Echo Park's Happy Days.

new etsy item - little girl mini album

A new item is up in my etsy shop!  It is a little girl mini album made using primarily Crate Paper's Emma Shoppe with lots of other goodies including Maya Road envelope, Hambly overlay and name badge holder.

I used my book as a place to record some of the events and happenings around Piper's 2nd birthday, but really it could be used for any girlish occasion, big or small!

Here is what you what your kit will look like:

Hope you enjoy it!
