Chic Tags + the Twinery blog hop!

Hello!  It is no secret that I haven't been blogging lately.  OK,  I have been taking a break...but... I am back today with an awesome blog hop!  Chic Tags + the Twinery!  It doesn't get much better than that!  So sit back, grab a coffee and enjoy our hop!  We will be going strong today AND tomorrow with lots of projects so be sure to check back both days for more inspiration.

You probably got here from the Chic Tags site.... If not, be sure to check out the blog here.

Here is the layout that I have contributed to the hop.  I couldn't decide on just one way to use this twine... so instead I used it in three ways!

This little 3x4 card was jazzed up by just wrapping some twine around it and then tying a bow.

I used a paper piercer and a ruler to prepunch hole along the acetate letters and then used twine to hand stitch through them.  Since the twine is thicker than embroidery floss I just went through each hole only once.

And finally, I made a banner with little tags hanging from the twine.

There are so many fun things you can do with this stuff!  I can't wait to try more...

Next up on our hop is Rebecca VanDeMark.  Be sure to stop by her blog and leave her some love.

And in case you get lost, you can check back here for the blog hop order:

warm colors of summer

Hi there!  This month on the Paper Camellia blog we were given this sketch to work with:

I loved all the little squares, but changed it up a bit.  I used the little paint chips from Maggie's Style Board Ephemera pack as my squares.  Check out the Paper Camellia blog for more details...

all time best Cousins

It's almost the end of the month and I haven't yet posted this layout that I made as guest designer for Citrus Twist Kits.  This one has sort of a simple design with the recurring hexagon throughout.  Lots of layering too.  It was quite fun to make!

so sweet

It is Friday.  This week is going by fast with Monday being a day off of school!

Today I have another layout that I made for the new kit club, Paper Camellia.  This one was a really fun one to do!  I took a piece of card stock that was a negative from a cut I had done a while back and used it as a mask. I layered it on top of another piece of card stock, sprayed some mist and let it dry.  Then i took a paper piercer and poked holes around the outside of each wonky circle.  Finally, I hand stitched around each one with embroidery thread.  From here, I just added some small photos and lots of little embellishments.

Thanks for coming by today.  Look for more Paper Camellia layouts with the October kit in the next couple of days.

pink with sprinkles on top

Hi there.  Today I am up on the Pretty Little Studio blog with an Out of the Box layout.  Here is the inspiration picture.  I loved the quilted rectangles so I tried to replicate them on my my layout.

Pink with Sprinkles on Top:

I made rectangles that were 1x4 and stuck them on another piece of paper.  The machine stitching on top really helped make it have a quilted feel.  Here are some details pictures.

Check out the Pretty Little Studio blog for more details.

new wheels

Piper got a new scooter and was just tickled pink...  It is the most sturdiest little thing, just perfect for a toddler/preschooler i.e.. someone who can't balance on a regular scooter.  Its a micro mini and can be found here.  Best part about it for her, at least, is that it's pink.

Here is a project I made for Bella Blvd that tells about her new scooter.  Check it out in more detail on the Bella Blvd Blog.
