January highlights

Hello... today I have my Everyday Life Documented spread on the Come On Get Crafty blog.  I have decided to change things up a little bit to make this a no stress kind of project for me.  I am going to document highlights from the month rather than each week.  And I have even decided to change up the size.  These pages are altered Project Life Style A page protectors.   They now measure about 10 x12.  I have just sliced off the last column of pockets and then run the page through my sewing machine.

I am hoping this helps make this a stress-free project to keep up with for the year for me.  Are you playing along this year with some type of everyday documenting?

2013 Top 10 Blog Hop

Hello!  Hope you have had a good holiday so far!  Today we are continuing with another Top 10 blog hop from 2013.  We all picked our top 10 projects from the year and put them in a post for some quick and easy inspiration to start off the new year!  The only problem was once I started picking, I couldn't limit it down to just 10.  I think I may have 15 on here, but who's counting?!   So take your time, and enjoy our favorites from 2013!  Leave a comment on each blog to be entered in a give away!  I will leave mine open until December 31st at midnight EST.

Here is our hopping order:

That's Rad!

The other day was my first post on the Come On Get Crafty blog with this layout.  These pictures were taken a couple years ago now, but I absolutely love them!   Here is a link to my post with a few ideas for adding some hand stitching to your layouts.

us

It has been so busy this time of year, it is hard to find time to get on this blog!  Anyway, here is a layout that I have up on the Chic Tags blog today, using the new Happy Place collection.  I love how easy it is to scrapbook using these products!  I added a piece of vellum over my journaling to make it less of the focus of my layout.  It is still visible to read, but now the picture is the main focus.  This was a technique that I learned from the Studio Calico Lifted class.

I stuck lots of little sequins on top... Right now I am loving the soft look of sequins and vellum.

Thanks for dropping by today.  Tomorrow is the second day of my guest design spot on the October Afternoon blog...

Dance

Monday morning.  We had some severe weather here over the weekend...tornadoes touched down very close by.  We were lucky to just have damage to our back yard, but many people in near by towns lost their homes.  Scary.  And it's mid November.  Strange.

Anyway, on to a scrapbook layout.  Here is a layout made with the November Paper Camellia kit. I love these softs colors for these pictures of my little dancer.  I went with a simple linear design here since I wanted to include a bunch of photos.

all that jazz

Hi.  Here is a layout I have up on the Paper Camellia blog today.  I have a little tutorial on how I hand stitched the words on this tag to help make them stand out on my layout.

My daughter got a new jazz outfit for her 4th birthday.  She is starting a jazz/tap class this fall.  She thought she was so special and pranced around the house for a while... and I snapped a few pics.

Chic Tags and Freckled Fawn

Hello there!  I've been so excited for this week... the Chic Tags blog hop with Freckled Fawn... I was jumping with joy when I received the Freckled Fawn October kit.  We have had projects up all week so be sure to check out the Chic Tag blog.

My first layout is called Fall Visit.  I tried something new here and used some modeling pasted and a mask to give my background some texture.

And here is the second layout, A Special Day.  I made some flowers out of layered parchment paper, tacked them down with some machine stitching and then topped them with a Freckled Fawn flower.  Oh how I love these embellishments... I may need another kit or two...
