Buttons! A Chic Tags Challenge

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by.  Today I have a quick little layout to share... The Sunday Challenge on the Chic Tags blog this week is buttons.  Good ol' buttons!  Use them on a layout, grab a tag or two and link up to this post on the blog for a chance to win an awesome prize.

I layered some buttons on a scalloped circle tag and then used a die cut tag to frame it.  Everything is "pinned" on the cork board paper!

egg hunt

Hello Saturday  It is the weekend... and we are finally supposed to have some decent weather in this neck of the woods.  Spring has taken it's sweet time this year.  Today I have a layout to share with you here and on the Bella Blvd blog.  This is the sketch that we used for this week's Saturday Sketch:

Again, I stuck pretty close to the sketch, adding a few more layers here and there.  The feathers are acting as a photo mat.  And I added an extra layer of scalloped borders.

I also decided I needed a bunch of word strips and buttons clustered as another embellishment.

project life - week 14

I've been posting my Project Life pages regularly on the Chic Tags blog, but I don't always update here.  I thought today I would share my most recent week.  I am finding it easier to use pictures that fill the pockets these days.  I leave some pockets for journaling and some just to use for embellishments.  I still do the odd embellish the picture type of pocket, but of course that was taking a lot of time, and with my other projects that I have going on I needed to simplify this one.  I want to keep going with Project Life so I am trying to learn how to simplify some things!

1st grade friends

Good Monday morning, to you all!  Today I have this layout up on the Practical Scrappers blog.  The topic on the blog today is enamel dots.  I didn't have to search too hard for a layout where I have used enamel dots, they seem to be in my regular rotation these days.  They are theme-free and so easy to use!  They add a little dimension and interest to any layout.  

This layout is about my middle child and a dear friend of mine's daughter.  They were in a preschool gymnastics class together and then ended up in the same first grade class.  Because they knew each other previously, they have a special little bond thing going on in class!  So sweet. 

Here are a few close ups of my layering.

I've tucked a little note that I wanted to save in this envelope.  It is the perfect way to keep track of it without showing it on the layout.  One day it will be fun to look back and read it.

Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm + Epiphany Crafts

Happy Monday.  I have been working away on my This is ME class that I am taking this month at Studio Calico.  I have some of the pages ready to share with you today.  I am using Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm collection and of course making some of my own embellishments using my Epiphany Crafts tools.  I really like how I can make my own little bits of embellies to match my paper or my style.  Check it out:

Pie Charts with Epiphany Crafts

 Good Morning!  Today I have my first post up on the Epiphany Crafts blog.  I thought I would share my layout here as well.  I love that I can make my own embellishments with the Epiphany Crafts tools. So many different possibilities...

I am not a watercolorer.  I've always dreamed of it, but I know nothing about it.  This week on the Chic Tags blog, Veronica challenged us with the topic of watercolors... I really wanted to play along, but as I said before, my knowledge of water colors is pretty thin!  Anyway, here is the layout that I came up with.

Good Morning!

I am pleased to be a part of Michelle's Saturday Project Life Blog Hop today!  Thank you, Michelle for the invitation!  This week, I have Week 12 to share with you here and on the Chic Tags blog.  I was busy getting ready for our Spring Break week, so once again felt a little short on time.  I used more full pocket sized photos which also allowed me more room for a couple of my favorite journaling cards (those Studio Calico ones that I have been cherishing).  I still had lots of places to embellish with Chic Tags, wood veneer, label stickers and more.
