Buttons! A Chic Tags Challenge

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by.  Today I have a quick little layout to share... The Sunday Challenge on the Chic Tags blog this week is buttons.  Good ol' buttons!  Use them on a layout, grab a tag or two and link up to this post on the blog for a chance to win an awesome prize.

I layered some buttons on a scalloped circle tag and then used a die cut tag to frame it.  Everything is "pinned" on the cork board paper!

Social [Media] Blog Hop + Chic Tags

Yay, blog friends!  It is the 29th of the month, which means it is time for the Social [media] Butterflies blog hop again!  And once again, we've paired up with an awesome company... Chic Tags!

I am sure you already know how much I LOVE Chic Tags, if you have seen any of my Project Life pages, but if you are unfamiliar with this company, please check out the blog and website.  This is a big blog hop as all of the Chic Tags designers as well as the SMB designers are participating!  Along the way, there will be plenty of prizes and freebies that you won't want to miss out on!  Die cuts, printables and of course many chances to win some of the Road Trip collection.  There is also a GRAND prize, so be sure to leave comments as you hop to be entered.  If you would like to purchase any of this collection or others, head over to the Chic Tags shop.

Hopefully, you have come here from Magda's blog.  If you missed her layout, be sure to stop back over there... Remember the more comments you leave, the more chance you have to win one of these awesome prizes!

And now, here is my layout featuring the Chic Tags Road Trip collection:

I snuck a lot of my tags under this cute circle die cut.

And a few up close pics:

Next up on our hop is Kristin.  Be sure to stop by her blog to get some Road Trip inspiration!

And finally don't forget the Social [Media] Butterflies blog itself...

I hope you find tons of inspiration in our blog hop today!  Happy hopping!

egg hunt

Hello Saturday  It is the weekend... and we are finally supposed to have some decent weather in this neck of the woods.  Spring has taken it's sweet time this year.  Today I have a layout to share with you here and on the Bella Blvd blog.  This is the sketch that we used for this week's Saturday Sketch:

And here is my take on this sketch:

Again, I stuck pretty close to the sketch, adding a few more layers here and there.  The feathers are acting as a photo mat.  And I added an extra layer of scalloped borders.

I also decided I needed a bunch of word strips and buttons clustered as another embellishment.

Stop by the Bella Blvd blog to see what the other designers have done with this sketch...and then give it a try yourself!

Fold It In - sneak peeks

Hello! Today I have a few sneak peeks of my mini album that will be shown in Kristin's Fold It In class.  I'd love for you to join me.  This mini album makes a fabulous gift for someone, and once you learn the technique you will be able to make dozens of them, all unique!  Please leave me a comment if you have any questions about this workshop or you can visit Rukristin's blog for more details.

project life - week 14

I've been posting my Project Life pages regularly on the Chic Tags blog, but I don't always update here.  I thought today I would share my most recent week.  I am finding it easier to use pictures that fill the pockets these days.  I leave some pockets for journaling and some just to use for embellishments.  I still do the odd embellish the picture type of pocket, but of course that was taking a lot of time, and with my other projects that I have going on I needed to simplify this one.  I want to keep going with Project Life so I am trying to learn how to simplify some things!

Here are some details of some of my pockets:

To keep up with my Project Life pages check out the Chic Tags blog on Saturdays.

1st grade friends

Good Monday morning, to you all!  Today I have this layout up on the Practical Scrappers blog.  The topic on the blog today is enamel dots.  I didn't have to search too hard for a layout where I have used enamel dots, they seem to be in my regular rotation these days.  They are theme-free and so easy to use!  They add a little dimension and interest to any layout.

This layout is about my middle child and a dear friend of mine's daughter.  They were in a preschool gymnastics class together and then ended up in the same first grade class.  Because they knew each other previously, they have a special little bond thing going on in class!  So sweet.

Here are a few close ups of my layering.

I've tucked a little note that I wanted to save in this envelope.  It is the perfect way to keep track of it without showing it on the layout.  One day it will be fun to look back and read it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
